ABOUT US
The association Aalborg Karneval has held carnival in the center of Aalborg every year in May since 1983. Today it is Northern Europe’s largest carnival with close to hundred thousand participants spread on their three main events: International Parade and Kids Carnival Friday and Saturday in week 20 and Aalborg Carnival Saturday in week 21.
Purpose
- to disseminate the understanding and knowledge of the carnival’s traditions, history, music, universal character and local differences.
- to provide a place for cultural self-activity for children and young people through carnival and other cultural events that relate to what happened throughout the years and popular traditions.’
